If Only Tonight We Could Sleep
The Cure Cover

Producer, Vocals, Guitar, Bass

A noisy, guitar-centric cover of If Only Tonight We Could Sleep by one of my favorite bands, The Cure. Whether it's a perfect, hummable pop song or a dark, moody elegy like this one, The Cure are masters of doing whatever the hell they want to do. I look to them constantly for inspiration.

The layering of sounds, guitars, and vocals is inherent in the original song and in my own recording process. For this video I wanted to show a visual representation of that layering. I superimposed takes over each other much the way I do with audio, so you can both see and hear the song coming together. Everything was filmed and recorded at my studio Peace & Love Laboratories in Arlington, MA.
