JATK released their debut full-length album Shut Up and Be the Light on 12” baby blue colored vinyl in 2022.

I collaborated with photographer Niki Fandel to create photo-centric artwork, jacket, and 24” x 12” insert for the album, which features a plethora of damaged donuts.

The record was recorded during my recovery from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. As both the songwriter and art director for this project, the donuts are meant to represent something you enjoy eating but you no longer want to eat. We wanted to visualize the opposite of glamorized food photography to showcase the struggles I felt during my recovery.

In addition to the album art, we created a series of 6 single donut images to pair with the digital maxi-singles from released from the album.
